The 600-seat Khan Khentii Theatre building, located in the homeland of Chinggis Khaan, officially opened on July 26, 2023. The inauguration ceremony was attended by President of Mongolia U. Khurelsukh, Minister of Culture Ch. Nomin, Governor of Khentii Province Ts. Chogsomjav, and Director of Khan Khentii Theatre D. Tsogt-Erdene. The theatre has a 600-seat capacity, nine halls, seventy-eight rooms, and an elevator for visitors with special needs, making it a model regional theatre.

The construction of Khan Khentii Theatre’s new building began in 2011, and after the establishment of the Ministry of Culture, focused efforts were made to develop theatres, museums, and cultural venues. Special attention was given to architectural and interior design, and in 2023, additional funding was allocated to ensure the full completion of the project. The theatre was built following the same blueprint as the new theatres in Arkhangai and Zavkhan provinces, setting a new standard for cultural infrastructure development in Mongolia.
